International agreements on Police and Judicial Cooperation on criminal matters (CPJP) of the EU with third States are a part of the development of the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (AFSJ). The entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty implies changes in the regulation of this area which possibly affect the decisions of the third pillar. The purpose of this paper is to study the effects of this new legal context in these
agreements and the new possibilities in their conclusion.
