Joint campaign with European trade unions on employers’ obligations under REACH

At the eighth seminar on Workers' Protection and Chemicals taking place in Brussels on 26-27 June 2012, the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and the European trade union, IndustriAll, launched a joint campaign with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and the European Agency for Health and Safety at Work (EU-OSHA). Using the slogan of ECHA's 'REACH 2013 – Act Now!' campaign, ETUC and IndustriAll call on worker representatives in companies manufacturing, importing or using chemical substances to act as ambassadors of REACH in their companies. For that purpose, they are asked to pass on a new information leaflet, prepared in collaboration with ECHA, to their employers alerting them on their legal duties and the urgency of the 2013 registration deadline.
