Negotiators of the European Commission and Turkey initialled on the 21 June 2012 a Readmission Agreement, which reflects shared interest in a more effective migration and border management.

This would also enable it possible to make progress in the perspective of visa liberalization.

The Council of the European Union also adaopted Conclusions on developing cooperation with Turkey in the areas of Justice and Home Affairs on the 21 June 2012.
