Recommendation for a Council Recommendation with a view to bringing an end to the situation of an excessive government deficit in Hungary

On 5 July 2004, the Council decided that an excessive deficit exists in Hungary. On 24 January 2012, the Council decided that Hungary has not taken effective action in response to the latest Council Recommendation.

As a follow-up to the Council Decision of 24 January 2012 the Commission should adopt a recommendation for a new Council Recommendation with a view to bringing an end to the situation of an excessive government deficit in Hungary.
