Transatlantic trade deal on the horizon?

Report from a study called 'The Transatlantic Economy 2012' from the Center for Transatlantic Relations at Johns Hopkins University issued in March 2012.

The Transatlantic Economy 2012 survey offers an up-to-date set of facts, figures, and analysis available on the deep economic integration binding Europe and the United States.

Volume 1 describes the impact of economic and financial crises; prospects for the dollar and euro; the position of the transatlantic economy in relation to high-growth emerging markets; and the changing landscape of international innovation.

Volume 2 documents European-sourced jobs, trade, and investment in each of the fifty US states and US-sourced jobs, trade, and investment in thirty European countries.

Speaking at the launch of the report on the 22 March 2012 EU Ambassador to Washington João Vale de Almeida said that as pressure on the eurozone eased, Europe and the United States were becoming increasingly convinced that they needed to strengthen their partnership in order to maintain a leading competitive edge in the global economy.
