Press Release: EMCDDA to host conference of the European Society for Prevention Research

The 2nd International Conference of the European Society for Prevention Research (EUSPR), hosted by the European Montitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA), was held in Lisbon on 8-9 December 2011. The Conference was entitled, ‘Synergy in prevention and health promotion: individual, community and environmental approaches’. International experts examined the influence of social and economic environments on substance use.

During the conference, the EMCDDA will launch the European drug prevention quality standards, setting out the first European framework on how to conduct high-quality prevention.
