Article reported that Conservative eurosceptic Members of Parliament (MPs) were to press United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron in December 2011 to start renegotiating London’s relationship with the EU on the back of a warning that Britain risks being permanently outvoted on financial services laws by the eurozone countries unless the government took action now. Open Europe, the influential eurosceptic think-tank, published a report on the 5 December 2011 called 'Continental Shift - Safeguarding the UK’s financial trade in a changing Europe', which said that rthe UK should use any treaty change in the EU to seek a UK 'emergency brake' on European Union regulation. |
