Rating agency warns EU, major banks on credit worthiness

The credit rating agency Standard & Poor's said on the 7 December 2011 that it would review the top AAA credit rating of the European Union for possible downgrade. The move added the 27-nation EU bloc to the previously announced review of 15 of the 17 eurozone countries, including France and Germany on the 5 December 2011.
