Feature looks at the role of the internet and social media in the political arena in Russia. Increasingly, there is a collision between the internet, still largely uncensored in Russia, and state-controlled television as shown in various incidents in the run-up to legislative elections in Russia in December 2011. And for the first time, it seemed the internet is edging out a narrow victory in the battle for the hearts and minds of Russians.
