The year 2012 will mark the second year of progress towards maximum sustainable yield by European fisheries. Based on scientific advice, the European Commission announces how it plans to draw up the fishing opportunities proposals that it would present in the autumn of 2011. A consultation is organised on this method so that operators in the sector – and citizens – can give their opinion on the Commission’s approach. |
