Backstage battle over energy efficiency directive

EurActiv reports that targets proposed in the EU’s draft energy efficiency directive are being contested by member states in the autumn of 2011, with the United Kingdom and the Netherlands pushing for some provisions to be deleted entirely.

Friends of the Earth told EurActiv 'The revised document is so full of loopholes that there is very little substance or structure left to it'.
