Press Release: State aid: Commission temporarily approves rescue aid for Danish Max Bank

The European Commission has granted temporary approval, under EU state aid rules, to Danish public support to facilitate the sale of part of Max Bank. Max Bank is a small bank active primarily in southern and western parts of Zealand, Denmark. The bank has reported significant impairment losses on loans and advances. As a result the Danish Financial regulator considered necessary a rescue of the bank.
