Iceland wins court case against UK, Dutch savers

EurActiv reported that the court of the European Free Trade Area (EFTA) ruled on the 28 January 2013 in favour of the Icelandic bank Icesave in a row over compensation to hundreds of thousands of savers from the UK and the Netherlands who lost their money when the bank collapsed in late 2008.

DutchNews.nl reported in February 2014 that the he Dutch and British authorities had reopened their dispute with Iceland over the bankruptcy of online bank Icesave by filing claims for up to €3.5bn from the Icelandic bank guarantee fund.
