Business leaders urge EU restraint on social harmonisation

EurActiv reported that at a time of growing cynicism towards the EU, 2000 European business leaders in a survey published on the 29 June 2011 pointed to the clear need to complete economic integration but were reluctant to delegate national sovereignty on social policy to the EU.

The objective of the survey was to better understand how European business leaders view the key decisions that the EU should take going forward on the economy, on social and political issues, and on the international scene.
