Abstract: Europe’s leaders have promised to find by the end of this month (March 2011) a comprehensive package, not only to end the euro crisis, but also to preserve the stability of the euro for the future. In the view of CEPS Director Daniel Gros, they are unlikely to succeed, unfortunately, because most of the elements of the package on the table so far at least deal with the symptoms and not the underlying cause of the crisis. |
