The European Employment Strategy. Working to Improve Employment in Europe

Increasing the number of people in work is vital for social cohesion and poverty reduction. Achieving this in Europe requires coordination of national employment policies, in which the European Employment Strategy plays a key role. This leaflet explains the functioning of the Strategy and the challenges which it faces. It also outlines the bodies involved in helping to increase employment and education levels and cut poverty in the EU, in line with the 2020 targets. It is available in printed format in 22 EU official languages.
