UK leads attempts to find summit space for single market

EurActiv reports on the initiative of the UK Prime Minister, along with other nine countries, to create certain assurances on what concerns the future of the single market and enterprise reform, giving the EU summit from 24 – 25 March 2011.

In a letter sent on 21 March 2011 to European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and his Commission counterpart José Manuel Barroso, the leaders called for collective action to complete the single market, open the EU to more trade and slash burdens on business.
