A Product Class Approach to Realigning the International Debate Over Intellectual Property Right Exhaustion

This article examines the ideological entrenchment over the question on the exhaustion of intellectual property rights and suggests that an approach to exhaustion that segments the debate by product classes can align the identified competing interests, break the current deadlock, and address the growing pressure from information-intensive products.
