EUObserver reports on the European Union – Mercosur discussions, that are taking place between 14 – 18 March 2001, saying that the MEPs resolution from February 2011 outlining their concerns over agriculture does not represent a setback for EU-Mercosur trade talks.

In that resolution, the Members of the European Parliament criticised what they said was the Commission's tendency to conclude trade agreements without taking into consideration the very negative impact these can have on the EU's agricultural sector.
