The European Food Information Council (EUFIC), in collaboration with researchers at the University of Surrey, UK, published in February 2011 the results of its latest European nutrition labelling consumer research – now focusing on portion information. The results were announced as the European Parliament prepared for its second reading of a new food labelling law to improve nutritional information spelled out on food and drink packages. Separately, the Council adopted its first-reading-position on the draft regulation on food information to consumers on the 21 February 2011. |
