Press Release: Towards closer co-operation between the Public Prosecutors General of the Member States of the European Union

A meeting concerning the formation of the 'Consultative Forum of the Prosecutors General and Directors of Public Prosecution' was held in The Hague on 16 December 2010. The purpose of the Forum, as proposed by the Belgian Presidency of the EU, will be to encourage the active participation of the judicial authorities of the Member States in the Internal Security Strategy of the EU, thereby strengthening the judicial dimension of the EU policy in fighting organised crime.
