The Oireachtas Committee on European Affairs held its last meeting at the end of January 2011, prior to the dissolution of the Dáil. The Committee regretted that it had not had the opportunity to examine the terms of the recent loans made available to Ireland by the EU, in order to ascertain whether or not Ireland had obtained the best possible interest rate.
