The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) announced, in December 2010, that they were about to start working together in the area of chemicals safety. One of the major anticipated areas of collaboration will be on the exchange of data and information. The two organisations signed a Statement of Intent related to chemical management activities on 15 December 2010.
