Memo: Questions & Answers: new energy labels for televisions, refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines

In September 2010 the European Commission proposed new energy labels for TVs, refrigerators, dishwashers and washing machines. Energy labels help consumers choose products which save energy and thus money. They also provide incentives for industry to develop and invest in energy efficient product design.
