Riot police fired teargas at youths throwing rocks and petrol bombs during a day of rolling demonstrations on the 6 December 2010 in central Athens by students and leftwing groups.

The clashes erupted after several thousand students marched to parliament to mark the death of a 15-year-old schoolboy shot by a Greek police officer on 6 December 2008.

Separately, police arrested on the 5th December 2010 six people on terrorism charges, including two suspected members of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire, and seized heavy weaponry and explosives in raids in Athens and several other cities.
