The European Environment Agency (EEA) and EuroGeoSurveys (EGS) signed a partnership agreement, on 4 November 2010, to improve understanding of Europe’s geology. As part of the agreement, EGS will provide the EEA and Europe’s GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) initiative with access to interoperable geological data on bedrock composition and superficial deposits, at the scale of 1:1 000 000. Researchers, consultants, construction companies, planners and local, regional and central governments are welcome to utilise the data. These data are also available on-line through the OneGeology-Europe portal. |
