Germany’s economic recovery prospects have suffered a setback, with industrial orders tumbling by an unexpectedly-sharp 4% in September 2010 compared with the previous month.

However, it was reported on the same day that a panel of German economic experts had significantly upped its forecast for the country's tax revenue over the next two years, prompting conservative politicians to call for an expedited debate on tax cuts.
