Free movement of third-country nationals in the European Union: the illusion of inclusion

Examines the free movement rights granted to third country nationals who are long-term residents, students, researchers, or highly-skilled migrant workers by Directives 2003/109, 2004/114, 2005/71, and 2009/50 respectively. Considers the stated objectives in the Commission's Action Plan Implementing the Stockholm Programme. Argues that the free movement of third country nationals is an illusion, given the limitations of the mobility provisions contained in the Directives and the way the Directives have been implemented by Member States
