Extended Briefing Note: Creating a European Civil Society House, May 2010

The aim is to set up in a European Civil Society House as part of a European public sphere. The approach is based on a broad definition of the diversity of civil society to include foundations, associations and also individual citizens. The house should exist in Brussels and also virtually, so that it is accessible from anywhere in the Union. Among all the prestigious buildings in Brussels and 14,000 lobbyists round the EU, citizens should have their own space.
