The Biodiversity Information System for Europe (BISE) was launched on 1 June 2010, at the opening session of the Green Week conference in Brussels. It is a web portal centralising information about European biodiversity in a single location. BISE is a partnership between the European Commission (DG Environment, Joint Research Centre, Eurostat) and the European Environment Agency (EEA).
