Populist, xenophobic and nationalist movements are gaining ground in several European countries. While in the west, they target multiculturalism and, more particularly, Islam, in the east they seek to emulate the fascist movements of the 20th century. Presseurop is an EU-funded initiative which brings a selection of the European press translated into 10 languages to enable a wider readership.
