Abstract:
The Court of Justice has delivered three remarkable judgments on the scope of EU citizenship. The proceedings in Ibrahim and Teixeira concern the interplay between Regulation 1612/68 on migrant workers and Directive 2004/38 on the rights of EU citizens. In Rottmann, the Court clarified the extent to which implementation of national rules on the loss and acquisition of nationality must have due regard to the implications for EU citizenship.
