Fast track relief funding for Chile earthquake victims: €3 million decision adopted

Following the statement by President Barroso on 27 February 2010, a fast-track "primary emergency" decision was adopted on 28 February by the European Commission providing €3 million for immediate relief following the Chile earthquake.

The funds were managed by ECHO, the Commission department dealing with humanitarian aid and civil protection, under the responsibility of Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva.
