Microsoft-Yahoo alliance is approved

The European Commission approved under the EU Merger Regulation, February 2010, the proposed acquisition of the internet search and search advertising businesses of Yahoo! Inc. by Microsoft. The Commission concluded that the concentration would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
