EU foreign ministers on the 22 February 2010 denounced the use of forged European passports by alleged assassins behind the death of a Hamas leader, Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, in Dubai in January 2010.

They stopped short of directly accusing Israeli agents of Mossad forging the passports and carrying out assassination, but diplomats said there was no question whom the ministers had in mind.
