Preparing for transboundary threats: what role for the next Commission?

Europe has witnessed a variety of large-scale crises and disasters in recent years, with the current H1N1 influenza outbreak demonstrating yet again the need for the EU to carefully consider its role in enhancing the continent’s capacity to deal with such crises.
