Five policemen were killed on the 6 January 2010 after a suicide bomber set off an explosive-laden car outside a Russian police compound in the war-torn north Caucasus region of Dagestan. It was the latest in a series of jihadi-style terror attacks in the predominantly Muslim region, as violence there gets steadily worse.
