EU funding gives Wales a sharper edge

EU funding is giving Wales 'a sharper edge in facing global challenges and helping to prepare the region for a sustainable and prosperous post-recession economy,' Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones said December 2009.

Speaking to some 150 delegates attending the Structural Funds annual information event at the SWALEC Stadium in Cardiff, Mr Jones, who is also the Minister for the Economy and Transport, said that the £2 billion invested so far under the 2007-2013 programmes is providing invaluable support to people, businesses and communities across the region.
