The United Kingdom House of Lords EU Select Committee published a report on 24 March 2015 urging the UK Government to abandon the unilateral approach to EU Justice and Home Affairs measures.

The Committee reviewed a series of rulings by the European Court of Justice, in each of which the Government’s approach had been rejected. The Committee concluded that the Government’s policy 'raises serious questions about the UK’s acceptance of the uniform application of EU law, the defining trait of the rule of law in the European Union'.
