Press Release: Internal Market: Commission action leads to removal of unjustified restrictions in Austria (casino advertising), France (bovine insemination) and Portugal (retail stores)

The European Commission decided to close three infringement cases in the area of free movement of services and freedom of establishment. The new laws introduced following the Commission's action will have real practical benefits for consumers and service providers across the EU. In Austria, casinos from elsewhere in the EU can now advertise their services in Austria; in France, providers of artificial insemination services for bovines no longer face restrictions relating to their authorisation; and in Portugal, retail stores are no longer subject to excessively restrictive authorisation procedures.
