Declaration by the Presidency on behalf of the European Union supporting the mediation efforts by Oscar Arias

ON the 11 August 2009, the European Union reiterated its continued support to all mediation efforts by the President of Costa Rica, Oscar Arias, and the OAS, and called upon the actors involved to consider the San José Accord in a constructive manner, at this crucial stage of the negotiations.

The EU urged the actors involved in the mediation to continue peaceful negotiations to restore democracy and constitutional order in Honduras.
