Press Release: Competition: Commissioner Kroes signs Memorandum of Understanding with Brazil

On 8 October 2009 European Commissioner for Competition Neelie Kroes signed a Memorandum of Understanding to increase cooperation between the European Commission's Directorate General for Competition and the Brazilian competition authorities. The signature took place in Brasilia during ceremonies to mark October as competition month in Brazil. The Memorandum of Understanding provides a framework for administrative cooperation, dialogue and exchanges between the Commission's competition department and Brazil's competition authorities. During her visit to Brazil, Commissioner Kroes also participated in a conference on cartels to commemorate 8 October as Brazil's anti-cartel day.
