This document is a summary of the steps which have been taken by Ireland in compliance with, and a programme for the implementation of, Council Directive 76/464/EEC on pollution caused by certain dangerous substances discharged into the aquatic environment of the Community, now repealed pursuant to, and replaced by, Directive 2006/11/EC. The document also addresses steps taken by Ireland to meet related obligations concerning water arising from other EU legilation, although compliance with the Directive is its primary focus. |
