Downturn puts paid to Polish mobility

Once well known for their mobility and their ubiquity in western European cities like London, Poles have responded to the global economic crisis by staying put. The many Poles who would have previously considered leaving to work abroad have stayed home, while those who had left for the most part showed no intention of returning to Poland.
