Eurostat's role in international statistical cooperation is to advise on the production and dissemination of reliable and comparable statistics with respect to:
- Development policies
- Relations with international organisations
- Matters of common statistical interest with non-European regions or countries.

This advisory role targets mainly other Directorates Generals of the Commission (such as EuropeAid), the European External Action Service (EEAS) and EU Delegations in developing countries. Eurostat acts in close coordination with national statistical authorities and international partners.
