Three suspected members of the violent Basque separatist group Eta were arrested in France on the 19 August 2009, in the latest sign of success for joint French-Spanish anti-terrorism operations.

However, Spain's Interior Minister Alfredo Rubalcaba warned that the Eta was still dangerous, despite the series of arrests and seizures of weapons caches.
