Full harmonisation of consumer protection rules should be limited to areas most affected by cross-border trade, namely distance and off-premises sales, and not extended to the issue of unfair terms and sales guarantees, said the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) in its opinion on consumer rights adopted at the plenary session on 16 July 2009. |
