Article reports that the credit ratings of nearly half of Italy’s banks and financial institutions could be cut as the country’s steep recession bites into profits and companies find it harder to service their debts.

However, Italy’s economy, might emerge from recession earlier than expected, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development forecast in its Economic Survey for Italy 2009 published on the 17 June 2009.
