Since Greece joined the European Union in 1981, the EIB has been a solid partner for the country, bringing value added to both public and private investments.

During the period 2003-2007, the EIB’s lending activity in Greece totalled around EUR 5.4 billion, reflecting the Bank’s strong commitment to supporting the country’s economic development and European integration.
