Sustainable Energy Initiative

Energy is a strategic focus for the EBRD. The Bank is at the forefront in helping countries from central Europe to central Asia secure sustainable energy supplies. Through the Sustainable Energy Initiative (SEI) the Bank finances the efficient use of energy that will cut demand and imports, reduce pollution and mitigate the effects of climate change.

The illustrated booklet summarises the activities and achievements of Phase 1 of the SEI (2006 to 2008) and highlights specific SEI projects with carbon reduction impacts in the industrial, energy and infrastructure sectors.
